A landscape design project often falls into three different categories.
One is starting from scratch. This could be a new home or a home where you are ready to redesign your yard around with little to no landscaping. A blank canvas. In these instances, there is a lot of discovery on our part to understand how you would like to utilize your yard. Is it entertaining, or tropical, maybe waterwise? Want to include a pool, outdoor room, shade structure, seating area and fire pit?
Second, we have a hard refresh. The bones are good but there’s some hardscape that has suffered some cracking or feels outdated. You’ve found some spots that could use a walkway, or you’d like to add that firepit or built in barbeque. The fence, water feature or walls need some work. The big plants are good, but the whole thing needs some tender loving care.
Third, we have a soft refresh. Maybe you did some landscaping a while ago, the hardscape is good, but the plants are mature, grown out, lost their shape and interest. Perhaps, you want to change the theme of the plants. Go xeriscape, mediterranean, desert, lush, tropical.
