About This Project

This updated contemporary beach house needed some curb appeal.

We removed the existing traditional lawn and introduced a formal entry per the owner’s request. Due to the small space constraints we had to get creative. To solve the space problem we introduced steel planter boxes flanking the entry walkway. Their thin profile take up less space than traditional masonry walled planters which require footings. The oxidized steel planters flank the left property line as well and tall, space saving, matching ceramic pots frame the entry as well as the garage. We installed a grid of at-grade drip irrigation system to support the low-watering tropical planting theme that supports the client’s beach lifestyle and location. It also pays a nod to the neighbors’ waterwise spare French landscape.
